Hands On Pottery presents Make a Hand-built Curio Shelf! This one-session workshop at our studio is a great way to experience what it’s like to create something out of clay using the technique called “slab building”.

You will learn how to make your ceramic curio shelf out of slabs of clay in one session! We will guide you through the process – using templates to create your very own wall hanging curio shelf - the perfect way to display your favourite knick-knacks, collectibles, and dried flowers.

Once you’ve finished making your curio shelf you will choose the colour of glaze and our team will complete the glazing and firing process. Your finished handmade ceramic curio shelf will be ready within 3-4 weeks. (We’ll email you when it’s ready.)

Please note that this is a hand-building class and does not involve using a potter’s wheel. You can sign up for one-night wheel workshops here!

All attendee’s must be 16+.

Cancellations, Rescheduling & Missed Workshops

CANCELLATIONS - all cancelations are subject to a fee of $10 per participant. Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to your workshop to be eligible for rebooking. If you must cancel your reservation within 7 days of your workshop, we can ONLY offer a credit to reschedule if we are able to fill your spot(s), and you pay a fee of $10 per participant.

RESCHEDULING - rescheduling can be done seven days prior to your workshop for a fee of $10 per participant. Rescheduling within seven days is only possible if your spot(s) are rebooked and you pay a fee of $10 per participant.

REFUNDS - all refunds are subject to a fee of $10 per participant. Refunds will only be issued if you notify us via email at least seven days prior to your workshop. Notifying us within seven days, no refunds will be issued unless we are able to fill your spot(s).

MISSED WORKSHOPS - we are unable to offer make-up workshops due to administrative logistics and capacity limitations in our studio.

We are unable to offer refunds or credits for missed workshops.

In the event that we do not meet our minimum registration requirements 5 days prior to the workshop, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule – students will be notified via email.

Registrants will have the option to receive a full refund or a credit to attend a future workshop at no additional cost.

Picking Up your Finished Pieces

Your pots will be ready for pick up the week after your last class just prior to your regular class start time. You will have 3 weeks to collect all of your pots. If you have not come to get them in that time they will be donated to a local charity.

Covid Protocols

We have transitioned away from a mandatory mask policy. Although we are not requiring masks in our studio at this time, should this change, we may require that masks be worn while at the studio.

Given the close proximity and nature of teaching pottery, we will do what we feel is best to keep our staff safe while they are at work. We appreciate your understanding!
